20th Anniversary in Canberra

On Tuesday 13th October, the Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) held a 20th anniversary cocktail event at Parliament House, Canberra. The evening was attended by ACICIS alumni from 1995 through to 2015. Read more about the event here.

2015 will mark the 20th Anniversary of ACICIS Study Indonesia.

ACICIS is excited to announce that dates have been set for the 20th Anniversary reunion event in Yogyakarta later this year.

Prof David T. Hill receives Order of Australia

ACICIS Consortium Director, Prof David T. Hill, was inducted as a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2015 Australia Day Honours. Prof Hill is delighted that ACICIS Study Indonesia has been implicitly recognised through the award and commends the consortium for its work in supporting and furthering bilateral relations between Australia and Indonesia.

Australian Foreign Minister visits ACICIS

On Saturday 14 July 2012, a group of ACICIS students were invited to meet with the Australian Foreign Minister Senator Bob Carr, during his visit to Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The meeting was a unique opportunity for university students and participants in a school tour from Perth’s Scotch College to talk to the Minister about their experiences and the value of learning language in-country.
