Q: Why did you decide to undertake ACICIS’ Business Professional Practicum?
I decided to undertake the ACICIS practicum as I was looking for more experience in Asian countries as I am wanting to work internationally in the future. I also wanted some more experience in HR and to have more time travelling overseas. ACICIS seemed like the best program to be able to do that, and the language learning was appealing.
Q: How will the Business Professional Practicum benefit or influence your future career?
I think it will benefit my future career because I would like to work internationally and having this cultural experience already will make me very competitive. I also have learnt a lot in my job and those skills can be transferred easily.
Q: Which organisation did you intern with? What were your responsibilities?
I am interning with Bank Danamon in the Talent Acquisition Department in Human Capital. I have been working alongside the brand managers and helping with the LinkedIn company profile, doing video and photo shoots and interviewing female leaders in my division.
Q: How did you find the work culture of your host organisation? How was it different to work experience in Australia?
I have found the work culture to be like a family environment. Everyone here has a nickname, and everyone knows personal information about each other. It is different to working in Australia as here, there is a huge focus on working as a team but work in Australia has very much been make an individual effort to contribute to the team.
Q: Would you like to return to work in Indonesia again in future?
I think so. Not in the immediate future as I would like to do some more work in Australia to get some savings and pay off my student loans first while still completing some other studies, but Indonesia is a wonderful place to work.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time in Indonesia?
I have liked spending time with friends from the ACICIS program, travelling to some of the more cultural immersion destinations and eating lots of food!
Q: Favourite Indonesian food ?
Favourite place to eat has been at Solaria or at the Rasuna Street Garden. Favourite Indonesian food is Gado-Gado
Q: Favourite Indonesian word/phrase?
