About Wanara Studio

Wanara Studio, a creative studio from Bandung, Indonesia, was officially founded in October 2010 by Bima Nurin Aulan, Habibi Putranto, Dian Efendy, and Sweta Kartika,  who are alumni of the Faculty of Art and Design of the Institut Teknologi Bandung.

The term”Wanara” means “man with a monkey tail” and refers to the character in the Ramayana story with its courageous properties.  According to the Ramayana, the Wanara helped Rama to search for Sita, and also fought against Ravana, Sita’s kidnapper. Wanaras like to have fun, they are childish, playful, hyperactive, adventurous, bluntly honest, plain, loyal, courageous, and kind.

Wanara Studio’s strength lies in visual problem solving through the use of effective, communicative and innovative design, specialising in experimental projects of graphic design and illustration in the form of disposable products such as shirts, head scarves and bags.  Wanara Studio also offers graphic design and illustration services including designing brand identity, company profiles, logos, typography, web design, motion graphics, animation, digital / manual illustration and editorial design. Wanara Studio has also participated in several art exhibitions, including the exhibition “Sweet Agony” in the gallery “Artspace lo.gue” Jakarta (2011) and collaborated on a Video Mapping project “Gedung Sate” (2012).

By reflecting the values of the characters in the story of Ramayana Wanara, Wanara Studio wants to be the best Graphic Design & Illustration in Indonesia.
