About Brahma Tirta Sari
Crossing both visible and invisible boundaries of nationality-ethnic background, the traditional-the contemporary, art-craft Agus Ismoyo (Indonesian) and Nia Fliam (American) have been working collaboratively to produce contemporary textiles in their fine art batik studio, Brahma Tirta Sari in Yogyakarta, Indonesia since 1985. Brahma Tirta Sari (BTS), which means ‘creativity is the source of all knowledge’, was founded on the belief that there are many relevant traditions rooted in cultures throughout the world which are important resources in the creation of contemporary art.
Orientation
In order for the interns to have a background regarding batik, they will be invited to batik and participate in a weekly creative process workshop which teaches the ancient creative process ‘Tribawana’ taught through the medium of batik.

Internship Duties
Interns would work in the area of the Brahma Tirta Sari’s wearable art collection, with the brand of Red Lotus as described below.
For those who are majoring in:
Fashion/Textile Design or the equivalent:
- Help design one of a kind batik jewellery or wearable art clothing
IT
- Help in the current development of the new website
Photography or the equivalent:
- Help in the making of short documentary films about activities related to Brahma Tirta Sari
- Product documentation
- Organisation of photo albums
Work Hours
Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm
Office Hours
Casual (e.g. Polo/t-shirt, jeans, cargo shorts, sports shoes or sandals)
