ACICIS Consortium Director, Prof David T. Hill, was inducted as a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2015 Australia Day Honours.
Prof Hill is delighted that ACICIS Study Indonesia has been implicitly recognised through the award and commends the consortium for its work in supporting and furthering bilateral relations between Australia and Indonesia.
Since the consortium’s first cohort of students departed for a semester of study at Yogyakarta’s Gadjah Mada University in August 1995, nearly two thousand Australian and international university students have undertaken study in Indonesia through ACICIS.
Prof Hill said of his Australia Day Honour:
“It is a delight to have ACICIS recognised implicitly through this Award. The consortium has achieved much over two decades due to the hard work and commitment of many colleagues and supporters in Australia and Indonesia. It has been an honour for me to have been able to work with them.”
“I consider this award an indication that the work and mission of ACICIS is valued by the government“.
