It gives me great pleasure to present the Australian Consortium for ‘In-Country’ Indonesian Studies (ACICIS) 2016 Annual Report.
2016 was a year of very significant growth and transformation, both for national student mobility to Indonesia, and for ACICIS in particular. Notably, for the first time in the consortium’s 20-year history, the total annual number of students who undertook study in Indonesia through ACICIS surpassed 200 students.
The report outlines recent historical trends in Australian outbound student mobility to Indonesia, and contextualises the contribution made by ACICIS within this broader national picture. Additionally, the report provides details regarding the composition of the consortium’s in-country student cohort in 2016 – by discipline, home university, and Australian state or territory of origin.
I am proud to offer this glimpse into ACICIS’ contribution to international student mobility and to Australia’s educational engagement with Indonesia.
Your support for the consortium and its mission of increasing the number of Australian university students undertaking study at Indonesian institutions of higher learning is greatly appreciated.
