ACICIS Study Indonesia is pleased to welcome 15 students participating in our Bandung semester-long study options this coming semester at Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR). 14 students from Murdoch University, University of Sunshine Coast, Western Sydney University, Flinders University, The University of Sydney and The University of Western Australia will be studying at UNPAR for the next 5 months. 10 students will be undertaking the International Relations Program with the four remaining students undertaking the West Java Field Study. 13 of these students have received New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants to support their participation in ACICIS programs this semester, with one student receiving the New Colombo Plan Scholarship, and the remaining student an alumni of the New Colombo Plan.
Orientation began on January 20th, with a Bandung program overview and a session with Head of International Relations Department, Professor Sylvia Yazid discussing classes and academic life at UNPAR. This was followed by a health and security session led by ACICIS Resident Director, Ms Elena Williams and Deputy Resident Director, Dr Adrian Budiman. The day concluded with a discussion on life in Bandung, the best places to visit, and the upcoming events of this year.
Students were also enrolled in their classes for their semester program. Many of the students will shortly begin their IRP professional placements (internships) with local government or community organisations.
The orientation concluded with dinner at Punclut, an area demonstrating the finest Bandung scenery and city lights.
We look forward to another wonderful semester and we wish all students the best!
