In February-June 2023, the Indonesian Business, Law & Society Program was held for the second time since the pandemic. In this iteration, we welcomed Anna Williams from Macquarie University and Thomas Shaw from the University of Queensland into the program hosted by Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) in Yogyakarta. Anna is a New Colombo Plan scholar and Tom received a New Colombo Plan (NCP) mobility grant for participation in this program. ACICIS’ IBLS allows students to undertake classes with Indonesian students and other international students within the Faculty of Business and Economics and/or Faculty of Law at UII. Before the university classes start, IBLS students learned Bahasa Indonesia at the Center for International Language and Cultural Studies (CILACS), Islamic University of Indonesia (UII). In this semester, both Anna and Thomas enrolled in Law classes at Universitas Islam Indonesia.
The program was wrapped up with a farewell dinner event where Anna, Thomas, other students from the Semester 56 iteration, and ACICIS staff enjoyed delicious Indonesian-food and played fun games. Anna also shared her experience studying in Yogyakarta in the event. Congratulations on the completion of the program! Semoga sukses dan sampai jumpa lagi!
