Sherly Rosa Senja (Sherly) re-joined ACICIS’s Yogyakarta team as Yogyakarta Program Coordinator in 2016 after finishing her MA in Applied Linguistics for TESOL from Durham University, England and is now the Project Development Manager.
Sherly previously worked for ACICIS in 2014/2015 as a Yogyakarta Program Assistant. Sherly has a wide range of experience from Indonesian language teaching for foreigners, English teaching for language institutions and schools in Jogja, and experience coordinating education trips in environment and marine biology fields for a Singaporean based company in Bali. For her passion for education and her leadership and organisational experience, Sherly was awarded a Chevening Scholarship by the UK Government’s Foreign Commonwealth Office for her masters degree in 2015. She has strong interests in pragmatics and communication strategies and has researched extensively in the areas of teaching, verbal humour, political language, and global perspectives on politeness. In her leisure time, she enjoys arts, travelling, and performances.
