Former ACICIS student Arjuna Dibley (Semester 25/Aug 2007) studied at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta for two semesters.
In his second semester, this Australian National University alumnus completed research in the Supreme Court in Jakarta. He also undertook an internship program in an NGO named Pusat Kajian Anti-Korupsi (Anti-Corruption Research Center).
AustraliaPlus recently interviewed Arjuna about the time he spent in Indonesia and what he learnt from his time there.
Arjuna said;
“When I was doing my research in the Supreme Court, I saw how much effort in promoting freedom of speech was done in Indonesia.”
In 2011, Arjuna, along with his colleagues founded the Australian-Indonesian Youth Association (AIYA), and was the president for 3 and a half years.
