Ria is based at Monash University Indonesia’s campus in Jakarta as Sr. Commissioning Editor for 360info, a news wire from global academics. She was formerly a reporter in Liputan6 SCTV and producer in TransTV Indonesia and joined international organisations like Free Press Unlimited the Netherlands, Hivos Southeast Asia (NL), Save the Children (UK) and GIZ (Germany).
Ria holds a Master’s Degree in TV Documentary Production, Salford University Greater Manchester UK and Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung. She was a lecturer in University of Indonesia and Paramadina University for Documentary, TV News Production and News Script-writing.
Ria is a professional with experience in leading design and delivery of communication, media, governance, journalism, transparency and accountability projects in Indonesia and Asia in general. Strong background in country engagement, national media television industry, strengthening granting and monitoring evaluation processes for projects and large granting programmes, with an emphasis on generating practical, useable impact data that improves both policy and practice. She is a consultant for various projects with KPK, GIZ GmbH, Moonshot GB, British Council, Ombudsman Republic of Indonesia, Ministry of Health, USAID-ICW, World Bank Indonesia Office, Siam Cement Group – Ancora Foundation, PT. Bayer Indonesia, Bloomberg Business Week, Jusuf Kalla (Rep. of Indonesia former Vice President) CIPG.
