What Students Did, Thought & Their Feedback

In January 2024, ACICIS hosted 51 students from 12 Australian universities for the Summer Public Health Study Tour (PHST), led by Dr. Emily Rowe. The majority of students received mobility grants through the Australian Government New Colombo Plan.
The tour featured an orientation session, seminars with notable speakers, field visits to various health facilities, and cultural trips. Students engaged with Indonesian frontline workers, explored opportunities and challenges in public health, and visited NGOs supporting women’s empowerment. Cultural activities included visits to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and learning traditional practices like Kecak dance and batik making. Weekly academic presentations were evaluated by Universitas Indonesia.
The tour concluded with a closing ceremony, awards, and a traditional dance. ACICIS hopes students gained valuable knowledge and unforgettable experiences, looking forward to future encounters. Sampai jumpa lagi!
Upon completing their tour in Indonesia, ACICIS students are invited to provide anonymous feedback through a survey to share insights into their ACICIS experience.
All PHST Summer 2024 students were contacted, and a response was received from 73% of the participants, totaling 37 out of 51 students.
100 % of respondents said they would recommend ACICIS to other students at their university!
