The LPP Academic Program Officer for Summer 2025 is Pranoto Iskandar.
Pranoto Iskandar is an O’Brien Fellow at the McGill Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism and founding director of the Institute for Migrant Rights, Cianjur–Indonesia. He is currently writing a thesis explicating Indonesia’s distinct conception of constitutionalism in the light of the dead hand of the nation’s folk religious traditions.
Previously, Iskandar had lectured at several universities, most recently the Peking University’s School of Transnational Law and Universitas Trisakti, Indonesia. He has written, edited and translated a number of books and articles on the intersection of international law, comparative constitutionalism, human rights, migration, and farmworker rights.
His most recent scholarly publications appeared in “Legal Pluralism and Critical Social Analysis” and ”Oxford University Comparative Law Forum”.
