Diego Acevedo Dupuy was a participant in the 2019 Business Professional Practicum from The University of Western Australia. Diego is studying a Bachelor of Commerce. Diego received a $3,000 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant to support his participation in this program.
Q: Why did you decide to undertake ACICIS’ Business Professional Practicum?
I wanted to learn about the Indonesian culture and I found that the ACICIS Business Professional Practicum would be a great opportunity to do so.
Q: Did you receive a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant? If so, how did this contribute to your experience in Indonesia?
I did receive the New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant. It helped me pay for the fees of the program.
Q: How will the Business Professional Practicum benefit or influence your future career?
I gained an invaluable experience which showed me a different perspective of the importance of digitisation in this new era and how this is shaping all areas of our lives.
Q: Which organisation did you intern with? What were your responsibilities?
I interned with Bank Danamon, who operate in the Digital Banking Sector. My role was to understand the similarities and differences between digital banking technology in Indonesia and Australia, and to research which Australian technologies can be implemented in Indonesia.
Q: Would you like to return to work in Indonesia again in future?
I would love to go back to Indonesia!
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time in Indonesia?
I used to travel a lot, I went to Bandung, Bogor and Yogyakarta with my roommates.
Q: Where is your favourite place to eat?
