Q: Why did you decide to undertake the ILSC?
To improve my standard in Bahasa Indonesian and to have a better understanding of Indonesian culture.
Q: What did you find to be the most challenging about the ILSC?
Comprehending spoken Bahasa Indonesian and speaking Indonesian , though the people at my home stay and my lectures are going out of their way to help me which is great.
Q: How will your proficiency in Indonesian language gained through the ILSC influence your future career or study?
It will be of great benefit if I gain work in Indonesia or working for an Indonesian company
Q: Have you had previous experience learning Indonesian in Australia? If so, how different is in-country Indonesian language learning to your previous experiences? If not, how do classes in Indonesia compare to classes in Australia?
Yes I did first year Bahasa Indonesian at Flinders University. Many of the words are the same but some are slightly different and some of the text is slightly different on occasion
Q: Would you like to return to Indonesia for future study or work?
Yes.
Q: What did you most enjoy about the course?
Learning has been challenging but good, I think that so far the support people at the Uni and at the homestay would have to be the most enjoyable thing for me.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time in Salatiga?
So far mainly study but we had a long week end and I went to Borobudur which was very interesting.
