ACICIS Study Indonesia was pleased to welcome one student, Troy Simonato from Western Sydney University to Bogor, West Java to undertake ACICIS’ Agriculture Semester Program (ASP).
Now in it’s second iteration, after a successful pilot semester with three students; Ellen Watson from the University of Western Australia, Rose Samson from La Trobe University, and Neelam Bhakta from Western Sydney University, the Agriculture Semester Program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in Indonesia’s agricultural industry. The orientation began with a welcoming dinner that introduced our student to ACICIS staff Alfa Simarangkir (ASP Program Officer) and Nurfitra Asa (Jakarta Program coordinator) and student buddies Mundus and Amira, and previous semester student buddies Teghu, Dhea and Fil who will assist Troy while in country.
The welcoming dinner was followed by the formal orientation process, where students are provided with information about health and security, adjusting to Indonesian culture, studying at Indonesian universities, and their accommodation options. The orientation sessions were led by ACICIS Staff Alfa Simarangkir and Nurfitra Asa and by Bogor Agricultural University staff, including Dr Eko Purnomo, Head of International Collaboration Office, who delivering a session on campus life and studying at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).
